A BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE MEDICAL FRATERNITY :
KOLKATA IN DARK AGES : শিব ঠাকুরের আপন দেশে, আইন কানুন সব্বনেশে !
The retarded chief minister of West Bengal calls police actions against the striking doctors for a just reason !
Mamata Banerjee's idiocy, mental retardation, imbecility, utter lack of foresightedness and callousness is taking Kolkata to the dark ages.
She ( ? ) thinks that her power flows out from her goddamn female genitalia, so COLOSSALLY wrong ! The omnipotence is in the seat of intellect, contemplation and introspection ! She is an abomination and should be desolated by the democracy ! She is absolutely missing the climate here. One fine morning she will find herself within the iron grasp of a black hole or inside the stellar womb of a super-magnetron star which will suck up her whole purid being and turn her into a violent, paranoid, catatonic, crazy delusional, violent schizophrenic to be kept tied up in a straight jacket for rest of her unending miserable life in a psychiatric asylum ! George Bernard Shaw was absolutely right, politics is the last resort of a scoundrel ! I am just adding, dirty politics to his quote ! Secret, strategic bureaucracy will bring about her utter demolition/downfall and life long humiliation ! She has to pay for the desecration of the deserving doctors who sacrifice their love, life, family, valuable time, dedicated to the well being of others ! One day the spirit of justice will spit on her dirty ugly face, body and her immoral mind ! Well, she lacks a heart and a higher soul ! The good lord will take immense pleasure to do this Himself and Deliver the poor, suffering people of poor KOLKATA ! City of Joy ? She is turning it into a city of eternal sorrow in the infernal depths of Hell ! It's high time that the people of West Bengal topple her evil, cruel and false facade of power which is impotent with total lack of orgasmsmic contentment accountable to her ZOMBIFIED FRIGIDITY devoid of the sacred bliss of sex and conjugal married life in reality and deluded mind/dogmatic fundamentalism/terrorism, fanaticism, hypocrisy, and bigotry ! Perhaps today the bell tolls for sounding her death knell, the beginning of the end of her fucktard dictatorship with the cosmic fire awaiting and revelling in the ravager's funeral of her and her cursed stooges and disciples ! It's not about living Eternity but how to live with her filthy ignorance eternally ! This is just like my beloved late father Dr. Saroj Bandhu Chakrborty's ( MB, FRCS ) oppression during the Congress government's tyrannical rule during the 70s !
Mamata Banerjee, you disgrace the principles and basic tenets of Feminism, you are nothing but a coward, spineless effeminate seeking vote banks and cheap publicity with a false sense of security amongst your bunch of goons, bugging the protocol of general election by booth capturing and vandalism. One day you will be caught red-handed and your infamous and false prestigious power will burst like an inflated balloon, pricked with a sharp needle ! Beware of the reckoning hour !
The final nail of the supreme verdict hammered into her coffin with the epitaph proclaiming, Evil Dead ! -- Dr. Bibhash.
Below written a short history of my beloved late father, Dr. Saroj Bandhu Chakraborty, MB, FRCS.
About my Father.
( Posted as an inspiration to all doctors of West Bengal )
In loving memory of my departed father Prof. Director Dr. Saroj Bandhu Chakraborty MB ( Cal ) FRCS ( Eng ) FSMF.
He was a revered personality. Everybody used to call him a Karmayogi. Apart from his professional finesse he was famous for his courage. The political ministers were scared to talk with him for his uncompromising and direct statements which often sarcastically ridiculed them !
He was also an undergraduate and postgraduate teacher in general surgery at Nilratan Sircar medical college and hospital. Before he retired from government service, he was the Principal, Professor Director and Head of the department of Surgery at NRS medical college.
Apart from this he also held the following important posts :
1. FSMF, Fellow of state medical faculty, a prestigious fellowship awarded by the state Governor in recognition of multifarious important contribution in the state health services.
2. Senate member of the University of Calcutta.
3. Honorary general secretary and later President of the West Bengal chapter of Indian Medical Association (IMA).
4. Founder president and member of the West Bengal Health Services Association.
To the best of my knowledge, he volunteered to help the Indian and Bangladeshi Army as a surgeon during the Bangladesh War and went to Bangladesh. I remember it.
I still remember he went on a global peace mission sponsored by the Indian government to USSR ( Russia ) and some other east European countries. I still have the letters he wrote to my mother from abroad.
In the seventies he led a movement involving doctors and engineers against the government for betterment of health services in the state and other hospitals, to prevent theft of medicines, food supplies to the poor patients and proper sanitation, hygiene and keeping the hospitals clean and tidy and to increase the percentage of contribution of the state budget to the hospitals in order to bring every facility to the poor patients. I have forgotten the engineer's agenda.
To pacify this movement the government had offered him the post of Director of Health Services ( DHS ) but of course he had bluntly refused.
Another very important agenda was an increased remuneration to the doctors who at that time were given a very paltry sum. I remember my father used to get Rs. 5000 monthly when he retired from government service. He was a visionary and was one of the first to protest against the government for the benefit of the doctors.
There was total noncooperation of the doctors against the government and incredibly a 58 days strike was successful, the leader being my father. I had kept a newspaper cutting showing him along with his doctor and engineer colleagues marching ahead on the street in protest towards the police barricade. Unfortunately I have lost it.
My father was suspended for 2 years for leading this just movement, by the government. However he got back his money after winning a law suit against the government later.
I still remember my mother shutting all the windows in our small bedroom at Cornfield road, Ballygunje in the stifling heat of the summer in our rented flat when my father returned from work. When I questioned my mother why, she used to tell me, the government has appointed goondas ( thugs ) to kill your father. That was also a time of perennial power cuts which was infamously called load shedding. Then as a child my aim in life was to buy an electric generator to avoid the sweaty heat !
I was born in Calcutta on 15th of August 1962. My father who was then the surgical resident surgeon at Medical College Hospital Calcutta went to Baharampur Murshidabad to join the sadar ( general ) hospital there as the chief surgeon. From 1962 - 1970 we stayed in Baharampur. In 1971 father joined NRS medical College hospital Calcutta. I have many fond memories of Baharampur. I used to study in a Christian missionary school, Mary Immaculate. My elder brother Sekhar went to Krishna Nath Collegiate school. I will share my memories with you some other time.
Returning back to my father, he used to drive to Calcutta every weekend to practice and returning back on Sunday evening. When he returned I used to behave just like what my doggie daughter Deejay does in deep affection to me.
We used to respect and were somewhat scared of our father for his strong personality, throughout.
But actually he was very lovable. In Bengali we say, রাশভারী।
If I start to enlist my father's story at Baharampur it will be a chronicle.
Some other time perhaps.
When we were leaving Baharampur, the people of Murshidabad honoured my father by presenting him a citation at the farewell meeting which I will share with you now.
In a nutshell, I am very proud of him and I consider myself to be very lucky to come to this world as his son.
Though my present work is surgically oriented, I consider my failure to become a surgeon as a boon in disguise as I wouldn't have liked at all to become a greater surgeon than him ! In Bengali we say this as, ঘোড়া ডিঙিয়ে ঘাস খেয়ো না। However my aim in life is to follow my father's footsteps and carry on his torch having taken a leaf out of his book !
Now the citation with which the people of Murshidabad honoured my father !

This is my homage to HIM.
Will sometime try to translate the citation in english.
My intention to post a very short biography of my father in this esteemed platform is none other than to provide inspiration to all doctors of West Bengal to have the necessary courage to protest against wrongdoings concerning anybody else whomsoever !!!
More about my father:
Some interesting facts about him:
I would narrate a few stories :
1. Once some health minister went to Baharampur to survey the state of health services there. In an outdoor gathering the minister asked him, " Dr. Chakraborty, I hear that you spend more time in your personal clinic than at the Sadar hospital ? Is this true ? My father promptly replied, Sir please do not pay heed to hearsay, people also say all ministers are thieves and corrupted ! But this is not true, is it ?
------- he said in rhetoric.
This health minister was none other than Hon'ble Mr. Nani Bhattacharya with whom father had a very good rapport in his later life and Mr Bhattacharya too used to seek his help in medical affairs of the state.
2. Some health minister in Calcutta ( I will not divulge his name ) threatened him during the doctors engineers movement to suspend him. Father had boldly replied, Sir, your ministerial throne is only for 5 years after which the common people will throw you out. However if you suspend doctors the common people would still flock around us even if we sit under the banyan trees that you see outside NRS hospital !
And the common people actually did flock around the striking doctors in their outdoor OPD under the Banyan trees of NRS !
3. Once he asked one of his students whom he had seen in OPD to come to the operation theatre the next day prepared for some surgery. When he arrived father questioned his house staffs whether they had taken consent for orchidectomy ( surgical removal of testes ). The house staffs were looking at each other in surprise ! Actually father had clinically diagnosed a cancerous affection of testes or seminoma in OPD. Finally the operation was done and the biopsy report confirmed his diagnosis. This student is now a successful surgeon and a family man with children. Thanks to father for his early diagnosis and treatment !
3. Once at Baharampur, a patient who wanted to consult my father had arrived at our place and saw a car mechanic under our Fiat car fixing something with his whole body smeared in Mobil and black grease. He asked him, where can I find Dr. Chakraborty ? The mechanic answered back, why don't you go inside and wait in the sitting room ? Dr. Chakraborty will be coming soon. The mechanic was none other than my father. You can understand the patient's surprise when he met Dr. Chakraborty !
4. His students and juniors :
One of his junior associate was Prof. Emeritus Dr. Samir Kumar Mukherjee who is now a senior consultant orthopaedic surgeon, and also empanelled in EEDF hospital where I work as a senior registrar and dept. in charge in Surgery. Prof. Mukherjee still recalls many interesting events involving him and my father. And he takes pride and joy and also gets excited while telling me those.
Amongst other students who are now renowned surgeon themselves are Dr. Mrinmoy Nandy ( Plastic and general surgeon ), Dr Parthapratim Gupta ( Paediatric surgeon ), and Dr Debu Mondal ( Surgeon and Urologist ).
Dr. Mrinmoy Nandy also recollects many interesting events involving father and also takes the same pride while narrating the hilarious stories !
Dr Tushar Kanti Bandhopadhyay, Dr Sandip Ghosh ( Radiologist ) and Late Dr. Ali Reza Fazl ( Urologist ). I have heard Ali da saying that it was father who was instrumental in granting him the award of class assistantship in Surgery despite differing opinions of other internal examiners !
Dr Sudhindra Mohan Bhattacharya the renowned gynaecologist is also one of his students and he has been kind enough to forward a more detailed biography ( my Facebook post ) to the NRS group of doctors.
5. His College friends:
Dr. Byomkesh Bhattacharya was another stalwart of medicine.
Dr. Souren Moulik ( Gynaecologist at Newlands nursing home ) father in law of Late Dr. Utpal Roy, gynaecologist.
6.His senior whom he used to respect:
Prof. Dr. B. P. ( Bishnupada ) Chatterjee ( Late ), HOD Surgery NRS medical College. I used to see his textbook on Surgery even before I joined Medical College mainly for seeing the illustrated photos of different patients operated at NRS by different surgeons including father.
7. Once a patient who thought himself to be too smart, came to Surgery opd at NRS. When father asked his complaints and symptoms, he had replied --- You are supposed to be the doctor, why don't you say what I am suffering from ? Father immediately answered, there is a hospital at Belgachia where the patients don't have to speak, why don't you go there sir ? The patient asked, which hospital ? The veterinary hospital, father replied with extreme satisfaction !!!
My best act of respect to him would be a promise to you all my friends and to him of course that I shall try my best to become a man of Action like him and pray to him to grant me this boon. I don't want anything else in life because I know from the bottom of my heart that nobody else whomsoever, be it any man or woman or God or gods can give me this quantum of solace !!!
I would like to repeat again, Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore's Gitanjali poem, " Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high ", aptly defines my father as a MAN and a HUMAN BEING !!! --- Dr. Bibhash.
Below, the pictures of my father at a much younger age, Deejay baby, Albert Einstein, the blessed winged Angel Pegasus, a hoped and awaited landscape and me, today Friday the 14th June 2019., 4.58 am IST.
